This historic pamphlet describes an amendment to the 1935 National Housing Act which permitted certain parties to apply for FHA-insured loans to finance equipment and machinery for multi-family homes, apartments, hotels, commercial buildings, hospitals, orphanages, colleges and schools, and manufacturing facilities. Loans of up to $50,000 were eligible under the program. This plan, the Modernization Credit Plan, was part of the FHA’s Better Housing program.
