Survey of Developments Financed Under FHA Section 221-d-3

This historical publication is a survey of moderate-income developments financed by mortgages with below-market interest rates, insured by the Federal Housing Agency via a mechanism permitted by Section 221-d-3 of the 1961 National Housing Act. As of June 1963, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials determined that there were 217 such projects, with 32,696 units between them, under way or completed in 34 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
