HUD launched the Affordable Housing Demonstration at 20 sites across the country in 1982, in response to the rising unaffordability of homeownership. Each site took the form of a subdivision, built without Federal subsidy by a local developer. This historic publication contains case studies on two such demonstration sites in North Carolina, Lynton Place in Charlotte and Covington Place in Greensboro.
