DON’T MISS OUT ON A GREEN FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR TRIBES!
«

The Department of Energy (DOE) is accepting applications from tribes, tribal consortia, and tribal energy resource development organizations for an opportunity to fund up to $7 million in tribal energy sufficiency projects. This includes a category of interest to tribes seeking to rehabilitate housing with sustainable features.

This funding opportunity includes a category of interest for tribes seeking to rehabilitate housing with sustainable features. The category “Deep Energy Retrofit Energy Efficiency Measures” supports energy efficiency retrofit projects for tribal buildings:

  • Energy efficiency measures can include building envelope improvements, efficient appliances, air sealing, moisture management, high R-value insulation, efficient heating and cooling systems and more.
  • The funding in this category is restricted to “facility-scale.” This is defined as single or multiple tribally owned or controlled buildings located on Indian lands. Buildings can include housing, community buildings, schools, clinics, tribal government buildings, and more.

Other funding categories include deployment of clean energy systems on a facility-scale and also on a community-scale. For requirements, definitions, and electronic submission information, view a video or slideshow describing the program.
For more information, check out the funding opportunity announcement, including recent modifications and an FAQ.

Applications are due by October 2, 2014.
