Brian J. McCabe

Brian J. McCabe serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Development in the Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R). Prior to joining PD&R, Dr. McCabe was on the faculty of Georgetown University as an Associate Professor of Sociology and an affiliated faculty member in the McCourt School of Public Policy. His research covers a range of housing policy issues, including the politics of homeownership, the drivers of eviction, and the administration of rental assistance programs. Dr. McCabe is the author of No Place Like Home: Wealth, Community and the Politics of Homeownership and the co-editor of a forthcoming edited volume on the Sociology of Housing.

Prior to joining the faculty of Georgetown University, Dr. McCabe worked at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and NYU's Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from Georgetown University and Master's degree in Urban Geography from the London School of Economics. He completed his PhD in Sociology at New York University.
