Building Permits Database: September Update

HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research recently updated the Building Permit Database that now includes September 2010 data from approximately 9,000 states, counties, Metropolitan Statistical Areas, and Core-Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) that respond to the monthly survey. The remaining jurisdictions report data annually.

This resource contains data on permits for single and multifamily residential construction issued by about 21,000 jurisdictions, with monthly data available from January 1997 through September 2010. HUD USER provides an interactive map (one of several we make available) that displays totals of available monthly data for building permits for the year 2010.
