Qualitative Case Study of the Coordinated Entry for All System in King County, WA

This case study is the first to examine the implementation of a coordinated entry system that Continuums of Care use to prioritize housing resources for individuals experiencing homelessness. The coordinated entry system uses a standardized assessment of individuals’ vulnerability and service needs to match housing and support services appropriately. The study team conducted in-depth interviews and focus groups with recently housed tenants, direct service staff in various roles, and policy leaders involved in the Coordinated Entry for All system in King County, Washington. The study determined that King County has adapted to emerging concerns, and it demonstrates the importance of including lived experience in policy and program implementation and research. The study offers recommendations for coordinated entry systems to consider.

Offsite Construction for Housing: Research Roadmap

Offsite construction of housing, which includes manufactured housing, modular homes, and prefabricated structural components, offers the potential for production efficiencies, improved quality, and lower costs. This research roadmap provides a literature review, information gathered by consulting with experts in the industry, and recommendations for future research at HUD to advance offsite housing construction. The research roadmap identifies six topic areas for priority: Regulatory Framework; Standards and System Performance; Capital, Finance, and Insurance; Project Delivery and Contracts; Labor and Workforce Training and Management; and Business Models and Economic Performance.
