This historical pamphlet contains excerpts from U.S. vice president Hubert H. Humphrey's speech, "Better Cities for Tomorrow," delivered to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 1966. In his address to the gathering, Humphrey discusses subsidized housing as an alternative to public housing, demonstration cities, the Vietnam war, the 1965 formation of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and other matters relevant to urban affairs.
