This historic text describes the programs and functions of the now-defunct HUD Office of Metropolitan Development, and the responsibilities of its Assistant Secretary. The Office of Metropolitan Development was an office within HUD’s Office of the Secretary from 1966 to 1970. It would change forms and be consolidated several times, before becoming the Office of Community Planning and Development in 1973.
