KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE CHAS DATA THAT HAVE BEEN CORRECTED

(1) A coding error was found relating to how single elderly households were being counted for a number of tables. Instead of being counted as "elderly non-family households", they were being counted in the "other non-family households" category. This problem has been corrected. It affected the following tables:

F2A, F2B, F5A, F5B, F5C, F5D, A2A, A2B, B2A, B2B, and B2C (Corrected January 2004)

(2) A coding error was found on how the income breaks were determined for the A6A and A6B tables. The problem has been corrected in the new files. (Corrected January 2004)

(3) A coding error was found on Tables A14A and A14B where the variable “Household with one or more children six years of age or younger” was swapped with “Other households”. This problem has been corrected in the new files. (Corrected November 2004)
