This historical report reviews the activities of HUD for the year 1981. During this year the Office of Housing added several new functions which were formerly part of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Neighborhoods, Voluntary Associations and Consumer Protection (NVACP), including community services, lead-based paint poisoning prevention, housing counseling, real estate settlement procedures, interstate land sales registration, and manufactured (mobile) home standards.
