This historical report, undertaken by the Southwest Research Institute and HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research, is an analysis of the adequacy of 1976's Mobile Home Construction and Safety Standards and an attempt to improve upon those standards. This volume, the fifth of six, describes the researchers’ recommendations for revisions to the construction and safety standards, namely to parts D, “Body and Frame Construction, E, “Testing,” and J, “Transporting.”
