This guidebook on noise has been created for HUD field staff who implement HUD’s noise policies. The guide contains seven chapters: a basic overview of the environmental noise problem, the noise regulation, major policy questions, noise attenuation, noise assessment guidelines, noise assessment guidelines workbook, and the use of noise measurements. It is written for a beginner in the field and contains information to make their job easier.
