Urban Housing Market Analysis
This historic publication is a demonstration and guide, prepared by economist Richard W. Lippold of HUD's Office of Economic and Market Analysis, to the FHA’s housing market analysis technique. This type of analysis is a tool to examine employment, population, income, household growth, vacancies, occupancy turnover, rent prices, and sales prices in a given locality, and use these conclusions to make plans and decisions. In this demonstration of the concept, Lippold uses the Binghamton Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area as an example to guide the reader through the process of undertaking a housing market analysis.
