Fixed Investment and Gross Domestic Product*
Residential Fixed Investment (RFI) for the third quarter of 2001 was
at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $449.5 billion, 1 percent above
the value from the second quarter of 2001 and 7 percent above the third
quarter of 2000. As a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product, RFI
was 4.4 percent, unchanged from the previous quarter but 0.2 percentage
point above a year ago.
