Fixed Investment and Gross Domestic Product*
Residential Fixed Investment (RFI) for the second quarter of 2002 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of
$470.7 billion, 2 percent above the value from the first quarter of 2002 and 6 percent above the second quarter
of 2001. As a percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP), RFI was 4.5 percent, unchanged from the previous
quarter but 0.1 percentage point above a year ago.
