In April 2024, Fort Lupton, Colorado, welcomed its first new affordable housing development in 15 years. Developed by The Michaels Organization, Sagebrush Apartments supports Fort Lupton's broader redevelopment goals of enhancing residential and commercial opportunities in the downtown area known as Vincent Village. Sagebrush Apartments' location provides residents with convenient access to nearby retail and other amenities, and the use of income averaging allows the development to serve households with varying income levels.

Evaluation of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD): Asset Management of RAD-Converted Properties Evaluating the Asset Management of RAD Properties

In a recently released study, part of a series of evaluations of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program, researchers examine how asset management practices in RAD properties align with industry best practices, describe the differences between asset management models, and evaluate the adequacy of those practices for ensuring long-term preservation of RAD properties. The researchers find that asset management structures for RAD properties generally are adequate for long-term preservation, with gaps in some functions. They recommend offering more strategic planning training focused on RAD conversions.
