HUD Wants Your Input!

Over the next 5–10 years, what do we need to know to improve knowledge gaps that are affecting the execution of good housing and community development policy and practice?

HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) is in the process of formulating its research agenda for the next 5–10 years and would like your input. We invite you to think critically about the above question as it relates to four targeted topic areas: homeownership and finance, rental housing, housing as a platform, and communities.

Your participation can help the Department and the nation achieve the following goals as identified in HUD's Strategic Plan:

  • Strengthen the Nation’s Housing Market to Bolster the Economy and Protect Consumers
  • Meet the Need for Quality Affordable Rental Homes
  • Utilize Housing as a Platform for Improving the Quality of Life
  • Build Inclusive and Sustainable Communities Free From Discrimination

To ensure appropriate consideration, please be sure to submit your ideas and suggestions no later than November 4th. You can find examples of PD&R's currently envisioned research activity here.

Thanks again to the more than 600 engaged and committed constituents who submitted suggestions and ideas in response to last year’s research agenda-setting outreach effort.
