Release of 2015 American Housing Survey Metropolitan Areas Summary Tables

Today HUD and the Census Bureau released metropolitan area summary tables from the 2015 American Housing Survey. The release includes summary tables for the 15 largest metropolitan areas and 10 additional large metropolitan areas. The 2015 AHS provides statistics on housing quality, housing cost, and neighborhood assets. As a reminder, the 2015 also include statistics about:

  • Food insecurity.
  • Health and safety hazards in the home.
  • Use of housing counseling services.

The data is available via the AHS Table Creator.

The 15 largest metropolitan areas include:

New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA; Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA; Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI ; Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX; Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD; Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX; Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV; Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL; Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA; Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH; San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, CA; Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, MI; Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA; Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ; and Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, WA.

The 10 additional large metropolitan areas include:

Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN; Cleveland-Elyria, OH; Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO; Kansas City, MO-KS; Memphis, TN-MS-AR; Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, WI; New Orleans-Metairie, LA; Pittsburgh, PA; Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro, OR-WA; and Raleigh, NC
