Research:
A Methodology for Collecting Data on Encampment Responses and their Associated Cost
In 2019, HUD and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation launched a joint study to better understand encampments of people experiencing homelessness and how localities respond to them. The report’s findings underscore the importance of a housing first response to unsheltered homelessness.

New Affordable Housing Opportunity in LaGrange, Georgia
Phoenix Landing is a 70-unit public housing development in LaGrange, Georgia. The $12 million development is the first public housing development in 50 years for Troup County. The building focuses on providing affordable housing for seniors and health and educational services at the HUD-designated LaGrange EnVision Center.
