This historic study, prepared by a research consortium for a contract originating with the Office of Economic Opportunity within the Executive Office of the President and later transferred to HUD, examines the housing markets and housing conditions of the rural U.S. south. The authors provide housing market analyses for twelve areas within the region, and additionally provide information on households living in substandard units. This publication is the second part of the first of six volumes.
