Information for Public Emergency Situations

Combining the American Housing Survey and the American Community Survey to Produce Information Useful in Public Emergency Situations: An Exploratory AnalysisEach year, the American Community Survey (ACS) produces detailed information about the people and housing in geographical units with a population of 20,000 or more. The American Housing Survey (AHS) provides additional detail about housing units and their inhabitants. A new report, "Combining the American Housing Survey and the American Community Survey to Produce Information Useful in Public Emergency Situations: An Exploratory Analysis," investigates the possibility of using small area statistical techniques to generate information useful in preparing for or responding to a disaster in areas not covered by the AHS.
