January 2010

This year's first edition of Breakthroughs has just been posted on the Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse (RBC) website. In this issue, you'll read about incentives to promote green affordable housing and transforming vacant school buildings into low-income housing for seniors.

Check out the January issue of Breakthroughs to see how...

  • Some state and local governments are adopting regulatory incentives to encourage green affordable housing development; and
  • Two former school buildings were converted into affordable housing for low-income seniors in Provo, Utah and Gowanda, New York.

Again, you can read or download the current issue at https://archives.huduser.gov/rbc/archives/newsletter/vol9iss1_1.html. If you have similar stories that you think would help others, we'd like to know about them. Call us at 1-800-245-2691, option 4, or send us an email at rbcsubmit@huduser.gov. Who knows, we may even highlight your community's efforts in a future issue of Breakthroughs!
