September 2010

This year's fifth edition of Breakthroughs has just been posted on the Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse (RBC) website. In this issue, you'll read about the Transit Village Initiative in New Jersey, plans to develop transit-oriented workforce housing in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and Boston's Green Affordable Housing Program.

Check out the September issue of Breakthroughs to see how...

  • The state of New Jersey provides incentives to municipalities that promote transit-oriented development with affordable housing;
  • Workforce housing will be included in the transit-oriented redevelopment of a major employment center outside of Washington, DC; and
  • The city of Boston has developed standards to create an affordable housing green building code.

Again, you can read or download the current issue at https://archives.huduser.gov/rbc/archives/newsletter/vol9iss5_1.html. If you have similar stories that you think would help others, we’d like to know about them. Call us at 1-800-245-2691, option 4, or send us an email at rbcsubmit@huduser.gov. Who knows, we may even highlight your community’s efforts in a future issue of Breakthroughs!
