Call for Papers: Cityscape Symposium on Opportunity Zones
HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research invites submissions for a symposium in a future issue of Cityscape that will feature articles that address the early experience of and results from the federal Opportunity Zone tax incentive. Topics might include (but are not limited to):

The Opportunity Zone selection process
-
Analysis of eligible and nominated tracts
-
Economic and/or social impact of Zone designation
-
Issues concerning combining multiple Federal tax incentives or funding sources
-
Analysis of Opportunity Zone investments to date
-
Additional incentives at the state and local level for Zone investments
-
Coordination of federal incentives among agencies
-
Comparison of the efficiency of Opportunity Zone incentives and other place-based initiatives
Please electronically submit an abstract describing your proposed paper to Daniel Marcin (Daniel.S.Marcin@hud.gov) by September 15, 2020. Authors of approved abstracts will be notified by October 15, 2020 and invited to submit full manuscripts by May 15, 2021. Authors will be responsible for addressing issues raised by the editors and/or reviewers by the designated deadline.
