Existing research suggests that children from low-income families face more stressors than children living in advantaged circumstances. These stressors can lead to negative health outcomes in individuals and negative impacts to family units, neighborhoods, and communities. Some recent research strongly suggests positive parenting strategies can reduce negative effects of early childhood stress.
