PD&R is pleased to announce the team finalist presentations for the Innovation in Affordable Housing Student Design and Planning Competition (IAH). The competition aims to encourage research and innovation in affordable housing, raise practitioner and future practitioner capacity, and foster cross-cutting teamwork within the design and community development process while endeavoring to raise the consciousness of affordable housing at universities. Multidisciplinary graduate student teams developed plans for veterans housing and preservation of a historic house on the site owned by the Housing Authority of Bergen County, New Jersey. Four teams of finalists will represent their universities on May 6, 2014 before a jury of practitioners. The winner and runner-up of the IAH competition will be announced by Secretary Donovan. Finalist teams represent the following universities:
