Braden Boyd

Braden Boyd serves as the Acting Director of the Technical Assistance Planning and Coordination Division within the Office of Technical Assistance. In this role, he leads Department-wide planning, coordination, and execution of HUD’s technical assistance portfolio and supports PD&R’s research investments, with particular responsibility for pre-award planning, award execution, and portfolio-level oversight. His work includes development of the Annual Technical Assistance Plan, management of competitive and noncompetitive funding processes, and alignment of technical assistance and research investments with Departmental priorities and congressional direction.

Braden’s work focuses on strengthening strategic planning, standardizing pre-award and award execution processes, improving cross-office coordination, and ensuring effective stewardship of federal resources across HUD’s technical assistance and research programs. He collaborates closely with HUD program offices, senior leadership, and external partners to advance evidence-informed policy implementation and capacity-building outcomes for state and local governments, housing providers, and community-based organizations.

Braden has been with HUD since 2018 and joined the Department as a Disaster Recovery Term employee supporting recovery efforts following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Since that time, his portfolio has expanded to include Department-wide coordination and facilitation of HUD’s technical assistance support for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, in close coordination with the White House Policy Council and U.S. Department of the Treasury, as well as support for other high-priority initiatives.
