In Portland Area, Down Payment on a Home takes a Decade of Saving: Real Estate Roundup

The Oregonian (9/5, Njus, 250K) reports, "The average Portlander who starts saving for a down payment on a home today is just under 10 years from having enough to buy, according to an analysis by The Atlantic. That puts the Portland area at No. 30 on a list off the 100 largest metros ranked from most to fewest years to save for a down payment." Honolulu has the highest number of years, with 28.7. "The most affordable housing is in Detroit, Atlanta and Houston."
