HUD’s Office of University Partnerships (OUP) encourages you to participate in the following events, which offer opportunities to help foster healthy, energy-efficient communities and to learn about the connection between education and community improvement.

Third Annual Better Buildings Case Competition Registration
September 23 – October 21, 2013

As part of President Obama’s Better Buildings Initiative, the third annual Better Buildings Case Competition will offer university student teams across the United States the opportunity to interact with government agencies, industry partners, and non-profits to develop breakthrough solutions to impediments to energy efficiency and clean energy implementation.

Interested student teams must register between September 23 and October 21, 2013. Solutions resulting from the competition will be presented on March 14, 2014 at the U.S. Department of Energy. For more information about the competition, visit: BetterBuildings.energy.gov or email: BBCC@ee.doe.gov.

Evaluating Anchor Institutions’ Work in their Communities

This event will present a white paper, submitted by the Democracy Collaborative of the University of Maryland to the Annie E. Call for Papers
Community-Campus Partnerships for Health’s 13th International Conference

April 30-May 3, 2014

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health has issued a call for proposals for sessions or poster presentations to be featured at the CCPH 13th International Conference. Proposals are due by September 30th, 2013 and must align with listed conference topics and the conference theme, “From Rhetoric to Reality: Achieving Authentic, Equitable & Transformative Partnerships”.
