This month, we highlight an online toolkit that presents strategies to increase housing affordability and "shape equitable neighborhood change" in transit-rich neighborhoods. Some of the policy tools outlined in the toolkit include:

  • Developing comprehensive planning processes for transit-oriented developments;
  • Establishing funding sources to acquire land for affordable housing development; and
  • Adopting inclusionary zoning and regulatory incentive programs to increase the affordable housing supply.

If you have green and/or affordable housing strategies or resources you'd like to share, please email us at rbcsubmit@huduser.gov, call us at 1-800-245-2691 (option 4), or visit our website at www.regbarriers.org.
