Visalia, California: Supportive Housing for Seniors at Sierra Meadows

HUD USER publishes a series of Case Study case studies that highlight federal, state, and local strategies that increase affordable housing opportunities. The projects featured in these case studies have demonstrated innovation through a multitude of partnerships and initiatives.

A recent Case Study details Sierra Meadows in Visalia, California. The LEED-Gold certified project combines sustainable design with a robust service program supporting resident health and well-being and providing a comfortable environment where seniors can age in place. In recognition of its comprehensive supportive service model, the HUD Section 202-funded project was honored with a 2013 MetLife Foundation Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing.
