PD&R's CHMA Reports Offer a Wealth of Information

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Policy Development and Research publishes Comprehensive Housing Market Analyses that offer a wealth of useful information about local housing market conditions and trends for areas throughout the country. The information, findings, and conclusions presented in the reports are intended for builders, lenders, developers, real estate professionals, local government officials, academics, and others concerned with local housing conditions and trends. Each report provides an overview of economic conditions and demographic trends in rental and sales markets of selected areas, such as estimates of housing inventory, households, population, and employment. Recent reports include analyses of Detroit, Chicago, Fort Worth, and others. Additional data for each report are made available here.

You can read more about the processes and purpose behind these in-depth reports in a recent article in The Edge written by PD&R Chief Housing Market Analyst Kevin Kane. The entire archive of Comprehensive Housing Market Analyses is available at: https://www.huduser.gov/portal/ushmc/chma_archive.html.
