This week, the American Housing Survey (AHS) User Corner and Technical Documentation webpages were updated to include some new tools. These updates are just another way HUD and Census continue to improve the 2015 AHS to make the data easier and more accessible for you.

Here is a description of the new tools:

    AHS User Corner
The live webinar “Introducing the 2015 American Housing Survey” is now available for replay online. The webinar introduces viewers to the 2015 AHS and provides important details about the survey. To access the webinar and PowerPoint slides, click here. To hear the robust Q&A session, fast forward to 20:53 of the webinar video.

    Technical Documentation
We posted a new, quick-guide – “Guide to Estimating Variance Using Replicate Weights: 2009 to Current.” This document gives you instructions on how to estimate variance with the public use files using replicate weights. It replaces prior guidance. To access the new guide, visit here.

    Visualizations
We added 15 new metropolitan area infographics that highlight the housing profiles for the “Top 15” metropolitan areas featured in the 2015 AHS. To view and download the infographics, visit here.

The AHS team always welcomes feedback, not only on ways we could improve the survey, but also on how you and your colleagues are using the survey, so we can assist you in your efforts. We can provide insights, conduct analysis, direct you to data, and develop communication data products, like summary sheets and infographics.

If you have any questions about the new tools, or need our help, contact the AHS team at 1-800-245-2691 and by email helpdesk@huduser.gov.
