Solutions to expand the nation’s housing supply and revitalize underserved communities often involve developing strategies to deploy private capital toward those goals. In one of the panel discussions held at the 2025 Innovative Housing Showcase, HUD Secretary Scott Turner led experts and leaders from the public and private sectors in a discussion of how the Opportunity Zones program is driving long-term growth across America by incentivizing private investment tailored to local development and housing needs.

The United States Housing Market Conditions indicators charting data provides interactive tabular and graphical displays of annual, quarterly, and monthly statistics on housing supply, housing demand, housing finance and investment, and housing ownership and vacancy, dating back several decades. Data are compiled from various federal and private-sector sources, and users can create and download customized indicator reports. PD&R uses these same indicators in various monthly and quarterly reports to summarize trends in housing market statistics.
