Upcoming HUD Conference on Reducing Regulatory Barriers

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is
sponsoring an upcoming conference on reducing regulatory barriers
to affordable housing. The conference will be held on July 10-11,
2006 at the Longfellows Conference Center in Saratoga Springs,
New York. Attendees will learn why affordable housing is
important to their community, how regulatory barriers increase
housing costs, and discuss strategies and best practices that support
workforce housing development. Dr. Edward L. Glaeser, Housing
Economist with Harvard University, will give the keynote address.
Glaesar is the author of numerous articles on the impact of
government regulations on housing affordability, some of which
have been featured in the Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse.
 
Register by July 1st to receive the discounted conference fee of $75.
After July 1st, the cost is $100. To view registration information and
