The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office
of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) is offering
state and local officials, builder/developers, and others
involved in Gulf Coast hurricane recovery efforts a list
of relevant publications and other resources to assist in
the rehabilitation and rebuilding processes. The package,
titled "Research & Resources for Rebuilding," has been
assembled by PD&R and the HUD USER Clearinghouse as a
kind of one-stop-shop for research reports, publications,
and information concerning the use of manufactured and
modular housing, rehabilitation, storm-resistant building
design, and disaster response. The "Research & Resources
for Rebuilding" package also provides examples of
existing city ordinances and state laws that encourage
the use of manufactured or modular housing where
prohibited in the past, or where an outdated ordinance
needs updating.

The complete list is available at
https://www.huduser.gov/portal/publications/destech/hurricanes05.html.
These materials are available both electronically and in
printed form. To order, call 1-800-245-2691, Option 1. If
you reside in the affected Gulf Coast region, or are
involved in post-hurricane reconstruction, you will not
be charged for the print-based reports. As always,
downloading publications and other resources available
through HUD USER and the Regulatory Barriers
Clearinghouse is free.
