National League of Cities Opening Session to Feature Announcement by U.S. Education Sec. Arne Duncan, Panel Discussions (MarketWatch)

National League of Cities’ (NLC) annual Congressional City Conference will hold its opening general session Monday, March 10 at 9 a.m. EDT, bringing together more than 1,500 city officials and local elected leaders to focus on the federal policy issues that are important to local governments.

Who: The opening general session will feature a panel discussion moderated by NBC and MSNBC Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchel. The panel includes NLC President Chris Coleman, Mayor of Saint Paul, Dr. Freeman Hrabrowski, president of University of Maryland Baltimore County and Michael Kercheval, president and CEO of International Council of Shopping Centers.

The afternoon session begins at 3:30 p.m. and features a keynote by U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, followed by a panel discussion that includes U.S. Sec. of HUD Shaun Donovan, US. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.
