This Demonstration was designed to test how to reduce the cost of single-family housing units using local government regulations as the only variable. Inflation is rapidly pricing many middle-income families out of the homebuying market. The alternative to federal subsidy (for interest rates, land costs, land development costs, etc.) is to build more rapidly and less expensively to reduce the cost of housing.
