The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has developed various tools to guide builders, architects, field inspectors, and code officials in meeting the requirements of the Model Energy Code (MEC), the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and a number of state codes. The REScheck (formerly MECcheck) tools have been developed to simplify and clarify energy code compliance, REScheck offers two ways to demonstrate compliance: the trade-off approach and the prescriptive packages approach. To view which approach is best for your project, for more information, or to download our software, please visit our website at www.energycodes.gov.
