This historical publication is meant to provide detailed information regarding the identification of lead-based paint hazards in housing and how to eliminate those hazards safely and efficiently. The guidelines include information regarding the risk of lead in paint, dust, and soil and does not address lead exposure from air, Superfund sites, drinking water, ceramics, or other contaminated sources. The guidelines were created by HUD in conjunction with EPA, CDC, OSHA, as well as additional Federal agencies.
